In Raleigh, coffee shops cluster around downtown offices, college campuses and the main commercial streets of residential neighborhoods, and the independents usually close by mid-afternoon while chains stay open into the evening. Across North Carolina, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Loyalty programs are common and worth joining if you are a regular.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 amβ7 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Its website is blackbirdbooksandcoffee.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 260 reviews, which is a strong result for a coffee shop in Raleigh and suggests consistent service.
Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Blackbird Books and Coffee is the kind of indie bookstore that punches well above its square footage. Tucked into the Historic City Market on Blake Street in downtown Raleigh, this boutique shop has built something genuinely special: a space where curation matters more than volume, and where every reader can find themselves on the shelves. The staff picks are outstanding, and the special collections lean into titles you won't find at chain stores, including banned books, LGBTQ+ literature, and diverse voices that both reviewers called out as a defining strength. If representation in bookselling matters to you, Blackbird is the real deal. The ambiance hits just right. It's a small space, so don't expect sprawling reading nooks, but the music, the vibe, and the overall comfort make it a place you want to sit down, order a latte from the cafΓ©, and stay a while. Speaking of the cafΓ©, it's a genuine draw on its own with a solid menu and good coffee. The staff is knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely kind, which both visitors noted independently. Where Blackbird sits in its community is maybe its greatest asset. It scored a perfect 5.0 for both cultural significance and neighborhood i

Lovely little bookstore where you can also grab a cafe drink, located on a beautiful part of the city on a cobblestone street. Saw plenty of the popular book series up on the shelves and some seating. Would recommend that the store mark if their prices are different than that printed on the back of book as my sister thought the self-help book she was purchasing was $20 and was surprised that she paid $30.

This is a little slice of heaven. The lattes are fantastic, my friend enjoyed their matcha, and it is so CUTE inside! The staff is warm and welcoming, and they are not shy that ALL are welcome (except ICE!!!!!) and it will keep me coming back and feeling safe in my community. Iβll definitely be looking into attending one of their many listed events in the near future.

This is my first time here and so far itβs very pleasant. I really appreciate the fact that they have a book club built in that meets monthly to discuss their chosen book of the month and anybody can join. I didnβt come here for the book club event but just happen upon it. I got their Brown Sugar Pear Latte today. They were very accommodating. I had mine made to decaf and changed the milk to an almond. The latte was very wonderfully made. Iβm so surprised by how well made it was upon my first sip. It was smooth, warming, and the pear flavor was insane. For some reason it worked very well with the brown sugar! It instantly elevated the brown sugar even moreβ¦ thatβs insane.. I would recommend this place as an ideal coffee place and a place to enjoy community if youβre looking for such a place. 10/10, would come back again!
